In the spotlight interview with Alex, she told us about the non-profit Brown Girl Surf which is doing rad things in the Bay Area working to increase access to surfing, cultivate community, amplify the voices of surfers of color, and take care of the earth. Their mission resonates with ours, and we want to use our platform to help support organizations that are helping to grow the surf community. Therefore, to go along with the release of Alex's spotlight interview, we announced that we would donate 100% of the proceeds from all sales for the next two weeks (3/823-3/22/23) to Brown Girl Surf. Together we were able to help contribute, and we are so thankful to everyone who made a purchase during that timeframe.
Since the founding of First Light Surf Club in 2022 till now, we have donated over 27% of our profits to organizations that are doing amazing things in the surf community. We are a small business and our impact is small, but we are humbled to be able to do what we can to help support. Other organizations we have given back to include Urban Surf 4 Kids.
