In 2019 I left the surf industry and stepped into a new job where lunch surfs and flexible schedules weren’t a thing. In order to still surf, I had to wake up early and go at first light to have enough time to make it to work by 8am. During this time I began to recognize people who would also be changing post-surf into their work attire. We'd make eye contact and give nods of camaraderie. Though some people thought I was crazy for waking up before the sun and getting in the ocean no matter the temperature, there's a group out there who gets it — a passionate and dedicated group. That's where First Light Surf Club was born. Work will always be a grind, but starting the day off in the water catching a few waves can make the day better. This is a brand that celebrates that.
