SIP & RIP Carlsbad - May // Surf For Life with Jimbo's and Swamis Cafe

The May SIP & RIP was a special one. In partnership with global nonprofit Surf for Life, the First Light community showed up and showed out, this time for a cause. Surf for Life works to connect travelers and people within developing countries by sponsoring high-impact, sustainable ‘brick and mortar’ projects in underserved international communities. Creating broader access to educational opportunities, healthcare, and economic development through cross-cultural experiences, Surf for Life’s goal is to always leave behind a sustainable footprint. Here at First Light, we are happy to align with a mission that echoes our own values of community and connection through sport.

Special thanks to San Diego giants Jimbo’s and Swamis Cafe for donating the fuel necessary to sustain the rip part of our SIP & RIP. The fresh fruit and granola bars from Jimbo’s Health Food Store kept us going pre-surf, and the post-surf pancakes from Swamis were the perfect reward for a hard morning's workout in the water. Can’t wait to do it all over again next time.

Hope to see you out there! Check out some great shots of our crew in and out of the water.
