A Look Back At 2025

This year has been one for the books. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are just discovering First Light Surf Club, here’s a look back at what 2025 looked like for us.
Before Work
It started in the early hours with 20 SIP & RIP community surf meetups. Early mornings at Turnarounds and Huntington Beach, a Halloween surf, and a morning with Grandview Surf Shop. Coffee was sipped, waves were ripped, and conversations were carried from the parking lot into the lineup and beyond. Along the way we hosted 4 surfboard demos and shared 550+ cups of coffee, all before the work day started.
Ya'll showed up after the sun went down too
We hosted 2 RIP & SIP evening meetups and 2 Movie Nights. From our beach bonfire to our first Sold Out movie night with Fielder Films. It was a reminder how good it feels to slow down, connect, and not have to rush off to work.
On the creative side, we kept telling stories
We released 2 Early Shift videos, recorded 2 Spotlight Sessions podcasts, published 12 Local Spotlight blogs, and brought 1 animated short to life. All centered around the people who choose to start their days with intention and pursue passion before convenience.
We also put a lot of love into what we made
9 new products were released (ya'll love the Rippin' Friar gear sheesh!). The FLSC gear found it's way across 45 states plus DC and 5 different countries. Seeing First Light travel far beyond our own backyard has been one of the most humbling parts of the year.
And none of this happens alone
We’re deeply grateful for the partners who believe in our mission and showed up alongside us:
Interim Coffee, Sur Coffee, West Land Coffee, Monte y Mar Coffee, Necessity Coffee, Hollandia Dairy, High Tide Coffee, Flower Boy Coffee, Curren's Garage, Grandview Surf Shop, Degree 33, Kookapinto Shapes, Haydenshapes, Sakal Surfboards, Best Pizza & Brew, Fielder Films, Seaborne Cocktails, Surf For Life, Best Day Brewing, Milk-ish, Breaky brekky, and A Timeless Day.
Most of all, we’re thankful for all of you.
The familiar faces, the first-timers, the friends who became family. Countless friendships were made and countless waves were shared.
Here’s to everything that happened before work and to everything still to come. We are beyond grateful for 2025 and can't wait to see what 2026 brings.
